Colombia Organic
Originating from the mountains of Planadas, Tolima, this Colombian coffee, cultivated by ASOPEP members, is the result of a meticulous process. Typica, Castillo, and Caturra varieties, harvested between 1400 and 2150 meters above sea level, are washed processed to highlight their best qualities. In the cup, it stands out for its intense dark chocolate flavor, a medium body, and a refreshing citrusy acidity.
A Tale of Coffee and Community in Tolima
Nestled amidst the lush landscapes of Tolima, one of Colombia's most productive coffee regions, lies the heart of ASOPEP, an association of over 120 dedicated coffee farming families. Since 2010, ASOPEP has been a force to be reckoned with in the Colombian coffee scene, consistently participating in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition and all events organized by the Colombian Coffee Federation.
Committed to sustainable practices, ASOPEP has successfully certified nearly 100% of its members as organic. Their passion for sharing their knowledge extends beyond their community, as every weekend, they open their labs to teach cupping techniques to children from the association and to any young enthusiasts eager to learn about the world of coffee.
ASOPEP is more than just a cooperative; it's a testament to the resilience, innovation, and dedication of the Colombian coffee farmers. Their commitment to quality, sustainability, and education has solidified their place as leaders in the industry.
